The objective of this project is to develop a Cybersecurity Incident Management System with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to securely log, track, and resolve security incidents. The system helps students understand incident response workflows, access control models, and secure application development practices.
Study cybersecurity incident response processes and identify system requirements.
Prepare Software Requirement Specification (SRS) and system workflow documentation.
Design system architecture with secure data flow and role-based access layers.
Create database schema for incidents, users, roles, permissions, logs, and response actions.
Implement authentication and RBAC with defined roles such as Admin, Security Analyst, and Auditor.
Develop modules for incident reporting, categorization, prioritization, and status tracking.
Implement access restrictions to ensure users can only view or modify authorized incident data.
Develop secure login mechanisms using password hashing and session management.
Build dashboards for incident monitoring, alerts, and reporting based on user roles.
Integrate backend logic using Java / Python / PHP / Node.js as per BCA/MCA curriculum.
Validate inputs and protect the system against common security vulnerabilities.
Implement activity logs and audit trails for accountability and compliance.
Perform unit testing, system testing, and role-based security testing.
Generate incident reports and resolution summaries.
Prepare project documentation including ER diagrams, DFDs, test cases, and user manuals
