The main aim of this project is to evaluate how emerging technologies are reshaping business models and operations across various sectors. The research focuses on three transformational areas: the use of AI for automating repetitive and decision-heavy processes; the deployment of blockchain for ensuring end-to-end transparency and trust in supply chains; and the integration of IoT to support data-driven, responsive business operations. The project aims to identify the opportunities, challenges, and strategic implications of adopting these technologies, particularly from a business leadership and innovation perspective. By the end of the project, students will deliver insights into technology adoption frameworks, implementation best practices, and long-term value creation.
Students will begin by reviewing academic and industry literature on each of the three technologies. For AI, they will focus on use cases in business process automation such as customer service bots, intelligent document processing, and workflow automation. Interviews or surveys with business managers may be conducted to assess readiness and benefits.
For blockchain, students will investigate how distributed ledger technology is used to improve supply chain traceability, reduce fraud, and build trust between partners. They may examine case studies from sectors like agriculture, pharmaceuticals, or luxury goods to understand real-world implementations.
In the IoT segment, the project will explore how sensor-enabled devices are transforming operations in manufacturing, logistics, and facilities management. Students may analyze how IoT data supports real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, or energy optimization.
The final deliverables include a comparative analysis of the three technologies, a strategic adoption roadmap for businesses, and a group presentation summarizing findings and recommendations.
