Project Objectives:

With population growth and increasing waste generation, urban areas face significant pressure on waste management systems. Traditional waste collection methods often lead to inefficiencies, rising operational costs, and environmental concerns. This project aims to develop a smart waste management solution that enhances efficiency and sustainability by monitoring waste levels, enabling real-time tracking, and optimizing collection routes using IoT technology.

Project Tasks:

 Week 1-2: Initial Planning and Requirement Analysis

Definition of project objectives and scope, high-level requirements

Ingestion of all required data and resources  Week 3-4: Design Phase

System architecture and data flow design

Wireframing and mockups for the user interface of the platform  Week 5-6: Development Phase - Integration of IoT

IoT Sensors installation and configuration on the waste bins

Data Collection and Transmission module development  Week 7-8: Development Phase – Platform and Analytics

Construction of a central platform for Data Visualization and Analysis

Application of Route Optimization Algorithm  Week 9-10: Integration and Security

Secure transmission and storage of data

Integrate the individual components into a system, boundary testing  Week 11-12: Testing and Refinement

Extensive testing for functionality and usability

System refinement based on performance metrics and user feedback

Finalization of Project Report and Documentation

Presentations of Individual Reports by Students
