
The objective of this project will be to develop a retail analytics dashboard that would monitor, in real-time, trends in sales and customer behavior through KPIs. In other words, the tool shall integrate data from POS systems, CRM databases, and online sales channels into actionable insights for business decision-making. The drive for the project was the necessity of using retail analytics to help optimize merchandising strategies by tightening inventory and thus improving overall business performance. Participants include data scientists, retail experts, software developers, and business analysts.
Week 1-2: Initial Planning and Requirement Analysis
Define the objectives of the project, its scope, and high-level requirements.
Gather data and resources from relevant sources.
Week 3-5: Data Collection and Preprocessing Phase
Gather data from Point-of-Sale systems, CRM databases, and online sales channels; do preprocessing.
Analyze data to find relevant sales trends or customer behavior.
Week 6-8: Model Development and Training Phase
Develop and train analytics models to derive retail insights.
Validate the accuracy and performance of models against historical data.
Week 9-10: Dashboard Development and Integration phase
Develop a retail analytics dashboard and integrate it with existing retail systems.
Refine testing of the dashboard based on user feedback and its performance metrics.
Week 11-12: Deployment and Monitoring Phase
Deploy the dashboard in the retail environment.
Keep track of the dashboard performance and fine-tune it correspondingly.
