Project Objectives:

The primary goal of this project is to implement and assess Total Quality Management (TQM) principles in a manufacturing setting to enhance product quality, reduce defects, improve process efficiency, and ensure customer satisfaction. The project focuses on identifying quality gaps, analyzing root causes of defects, and proposing a systematic approach to achieve continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

High defect rates and rework costs 3) Inconsistent product quality 4) Inefficient processes leading to wastage 5) Lack of employee involvement in quality improvement 6) Customer complaints and reduced satisfaction Without a structured quality management approach, these challenges result in financial losses, production delays, and a negative market reputation

Expected Outcomes:

Analyze Current Quality Management Practices 2) Identify Quality Issues & Root Causes – Use tools like Pareto Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, and 5 Whys to diagnose problems.

Develop a TQM Framework – Propose quality improvement strategies based on Six Sigma, Kaizen, and ISO 9001 standards.

Implement Process Improvements – Recommend process optimization techniques to minimize defects and waste.

Measure Impact – Evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect rate reduction, cost savings, and customer satisfaction improvement.

Provide Actionable Recommendations – Deliver a structured plan for long-term quality enhancement in manufacturing.

Project Tasks:

Understanding TQM & Current Quality Practices

Study TQM principles, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and ISO 9001.

Research current quality management practices in manufacturing.

Conduct stakeholder interviews Collect data on defect rates, rework costs, and customer complaints.

Identifying Quality Issues & Root Causes Perform Process Mapping to analyze workflows.

Use Pareto Analysis to identify major quality issues.

Conduct Root Cause Analysis using Fishbone Diagram & 5 Whys.

Quantify quality gaps and process inefficiencies.

Developing a TQM Framework Propose a TQM implementation plan based on findings.

Design process improvement strategies (Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen).

Develop training modules to enhance employee quality awareness.

Suggest tools for quality control (Check Sheets, Control Charts, SPC).

Implementation & Impact Analysis Apply pilot TQM strategies in a controlled setting (if feasible).

Measure KPIs such as defect reduction, waste minimization, and efficiency improvement.

Gather stakeholder feedback and refine strategies.

Documentation & Presentation Compile findings, analysis, and recommendations in a final report.
