The main aim of this project is to analyze the role of Information Technology and innovative digital solutions in enhancing service quality, guest personalization, and back-end operations within the hospitality industry. The project seeks to evaluate how hotels, resorts, and other service establishments are integrating technologies such as AI-powered concierge services, smart room automation, digital check-in systems, CRM tools, and cloud-based property management systems (PMS). At the same time, it critically examines the major barriers to implementation such as high costs, staff resistance, legacy infrastructure, and cybersecurity risks and proposes strategic solutions to overcome them. The outcome is a set of recommendations to help hospitality businesses achieve smoother digital transformation.
Students will begin by conducting a literature review and market analysis of current technology trends in the hospitality industry. They will explore case studies of successful implementations and identify best practices in areas such as customer relationship management, digital guest experience, and service automation. Primary research may include interviews with hospitality professionals, IT consultants, or guests to assess the impact of digital technologies.
Next, the project will focus on identifying common challenges faced during implementation, ranging from financial constraints to employee training and evaluate strategic change management approaches that can support adoption. A SWOT analysis or technology readiness assessment may be conducted to guide the solution framework. The final deliverables will include a research report outlining implementation strategies, proposed solutions to key barriers, and a professional presentation summarizing insights and recommendations.
